Appearance: Remus Lupin tends to look quite scruffy at first glance, his clothes tend to appear old, very worn and darned in places. This is not because Remus messy or untidy, rather the fact that he has little money and often has too much pride to accept the charity of others. Whilst he lives with Sirius Black he accepts as little money as possible for simple things such as clothes.

Remus' life has been tough due to his condition and the stresses his has face, not only due to the nature of his condition but because of the death of his friends and his constant unemployment. Because of this Remus often looks careworn, his hair is greying before his time and he often looks tired. Around the time of his transformations he appears a lot worse in appearance. After the transformations, especially when he's not had access to Wolfsbane potion Remus' face often appears scarred from his self inflicted scratching.

Dementor: Finding out that James and Lily had been killed, he had been living on his own at the time and the news arrived to him by owl implicating Sirius Black. Having lost all of his friends, Remus had no-one left to turn to and instead sunk into a deep depression.
Patronus: Remus' patronus is quite indistinct, many people have not been able to tell the shape of it and instead it often appears as a blur. As his memory is one of all his best friends James and Sirius, at full power his patronus tends to vary in form between a dog and a stag.

Personality: Remus Lupin is accepting and caring of all others even before himself. He always puts others first, a trait he had even at school that inevitably lead to his lenience on the other Marauders even when he was a prefect. This caring nature is further heightened by his suffering as a Werewolf. Because of this, he treats others as he would wish to be treated himself, with generosity, humour, kindness and care. However, as part of his dual nature Remus is very hard, almost oppressive of himself and his own abilities; he almost actively seems to shun happiness.

As far as romance Remus sees himself as too poor, old or dangerous to be of any good to anyone and actively turns people away who show an interest, despite what he may feel. Even at school, he would always encourage even the girls he liked personally into pursuing others because of the belief that he himself wasn't good enough.

Because of Remus kind and forgiving personality he sees the good in nearly everyone and believe truly that people can charge for the better. Remus has accepted as has Dumbledore that Snape has changed, as such Remus maintains a respectful tone with Severus even if such gestures are not returned. The only person that Remus has not forgiven, outside of the Dark Lord and the hard core Death Eaters is specifically Peter Pettigrew, the man responsible for James and Lily's death and a man Remus was prepared to kill in vengeance. Remus is extremely skilled with magic, although he is too modest to admit how far his skills extend.

Overall history: Remus Lupin joined Hogwarts at the same time as Sirius Black, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew and it was with this four, along with Lily Evans that he became fast friends with. However, if he was able to attend school at Hogwarts in the first place was, for a long time in some jeopardy.

When he was young, Remus' father angered the Werewolf Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf's revenge was the bite the young Remus when transformed and thus infect him with Lycanthropy. This terrible disease forced Remus to go through painful transformations on the full moon. Not only were these transformations painful but Remus would loose his faculties and self control, he would attack, bite and potentially kill any other humans in the vicinity. Remus and his family were worried about going to school until Dumbledore as Headmaster was sympathetic, he encourage Remus to come to the school and the Shrieking shack was constructed as a safe place Remus could go to transform.

Remus excelled at school especially in Defence Against the Dark arts and Charms becoming a formidable wizard, he even became a Prefect, however due to his nature he was unable to be as hard on his friends as he should have been. Remus forever felt that he needed their approval.

After his seventh year, Remus graduated from Hogwarts and attempted to get work. Because of his status as a Werewolf this was almost impossible due to the prejudice that he faced. James Potter helped Remus with financial issues, however it came to be as the attack on the Potter's drew closer suspicion fell on Remus as the potential spy of Voldemort, even his old friend Sirius Black didn't know to trust him or not. As such, Remus was left out of the decision process when it came to the hiding of the Potter's and didn't know that Pettigrew was the secret keeper that gave away the Potters. Until his time teaching at Hogwarts in Harry's 3rd year Remus, as did others believed that Black was responsible.

After reconciling with Sirius, Remus went to live with his old friend at Black's family home. His friend supported him financially as Remus struggled to find work, instead he threw himself fully into his work with the Order of the Phoenix. Remus soon became a key player in the Order, acting as one of Dumbledore's Lieutenants.

His goal now is to protect Harry Potter and his friends and to protect the rest of the wizarding world that he holds dear.
