Welcome to the wizarding world.
Harry Potter and his friends are in their fifth year at Hogwarts. This is a AU, everything that has happened in the first four years in the books is true here, but from 1995 onwards we are making our own version of events.
It's up to us now on what happens, will Sirius still die at the end of this year, will Snape kill Dumbledore, will we lose Fred, Tonks, Remus and others in the war.
Even though this is a AU Roleplaying game, we are trying to keep as close to the books as possible.
Welcome to the forum, we will be happy to have you as a member if you wish to join. Please read the rules for this forum, don't worry there aren't many.
Once you have read and agreed to the rules (in your mind that is) please have a quick read of the following threads, "Members and Characters", "Character Rules" (mostly for original characters) and "Posting Rules" (for the times your in character)
When you know what is expected on this forum and if you would like it here/follow our few rules. Why not look to see which Canon Characters are available. And apply for a Canon or Original Chacater.

Why do you think you will be good at this character: Well, Sirius is one of my favorite characters from the book, and I feel like I have a good sense of who he is, inside and out. Why do you want this character: I feel that I can bring in-depth posts to any missions and/or RPs, and would be active.
Roleplay sample of character:
*Sirius walked slowly down the dark, dusty hall, glancing side to side furtively. There was no doubt that something odd was going on here ... why would Harry want to meet him in the Shrieking Shack at midnight? His question recieved an immediate answer as he placed his foot on the first step towards the upper level.*
Well, well. Look what we have here.
*Sirius whirled towards the source of the voice, drawing his wand from beneath his cloak and leveling it at the person.*
Well, well. Wormtail, long time no see. EXPELLIARUMUS!
*Wormtail's wand flew from his hand and crashed through a window of the shack, sending a cascade of broken glass chasing after it. He shrunk against the wall, hands drawn up as if to protect his chest.*
S-S-Sirius, you wouldn't hurt such an old friend ... would you?
*Sirius' eyes glared down into little more than slits, and he raised his wand ... *

Why do you think you will be good at this character: Out of the Golden Trio (and even the majority of the other characters in HP), I think it's Ron that I most identify with: Both of us are relatively intelligent, yet neither show any academic prowess whatsoever. We're both loyal to our friends, yet bicker incessantly and rely heavily on sarcasm as our primary form of communication. Why do you want this character: I'll be honest...I've never played a canon character before in my entire roleplaying 'career.' However, I think this site needs a couple of canons to get moving, and I will definitely try my best to do justice to Ron. (And if anyone has constructive criticism, I will gratefully accept it and try to improve.)
Roleplay sample of character: Ron had just cleared a platter heaped high with sausages, thick slices of bacon, scrambled eggs, toast smothered in butter, boiled russet potatoes, crumpets smeared with orange marmalade, and kippers, and he was NOT showing any signs of stopping anytime soon. In fact, he was attempting to shove a roll down his throat with one hand while reaching for the corn flakes with the other.
“Oy, Hermione, could you pass me the milk?” he asked, flecks of roll-mush spattering his empty plate. He didn't notice the dirty look she shot him over the top of the thick tome she had been reading from. “Ron,” she began, and he sighed around the roll occupying his mouth, knowing he was about to receive a long, torturous lecture as to why, exactly, it was bad for the gallbladder or molars or whatever she was going to on about for him to eat as much as he did. Honestly, wasn't it against the law someplace for a person to wake up in a bad mood?
“Hermione,” Ron cut through in the same exasperated tone. “If I didn't have this bountiful feast before me to distract me from your nagging--” He paused to swallow and cram another roll in his mouth, maneuvering it into his cheek so he could finish his sentence. “--I think I would've eaten your head a long time ago just to shut you up.”
He proceeded to dig into his bowl of corn flakes, avoiding the scathing look she was aiming his way. Just as she opened up her mouth to retort, he was mercifully granted a reprieve due to the arrival of The Boy That Showered. “Here you go, mate,” Ron said gratefully, passing the sausage and bacon as Harry sat down. “You just saved me. Cheers.”

Why do you think you will be good at this character: Well, Luna was probably one of my favorites from the series, mainly because of her eccentricity. All the characters I've ever made have some sort of quirk to them, even though they aren't exactly like Luna's quirks. I also think she would be very amusing to portray.
Why do you want this character: A lot of the things I said above could apply here. I just love how very strange she is. It makes me smile. I know I'd have fun playing her. I've never done a canon character though, so I'm a bit nervous. Like Aid-I mean Ron said, any helpful critique would be appreciated if needed.
Roleplay sample of character:
Luna walked down one of the many corridors of Hogwarts, a book clutched to her chest, her wand tucked behind her left ear. She was humming a song softly to herself as she walked, not really focused on her surroundings. She looked up when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked up to see Harry giving her a strange look. “Hello Harry, why is your face like that? Are you in pain?”
He shook his head slowly before gesturing to her feet, which happened to be covered by two different socks. One was black, the other blue. She looked down, laughing softly. “ Yes, it seems that the Nargles are stealing my shoes again. They’ll turn up though, they always do.”
Harry scratched his head and looked as if he was about to say something when Luna let out a gasp of realization. She tapped the book she was holding with her free had before showing the spine to Harry. It said ‘Moon Frogs: The inhabitant’s of the moon’ “Isn’t this neat? My father got it from the man he interviewed about Moon Frogs. He just published this book. It’s fascinating.”
Luna’s voice held the dreamy quality that seemed to never cease as she spoke. Harry scratched his head again, looking unsure of what to say. Luna didn’t notice though, her eyes were looking in the opposite direction, in a dreamy haze. “That’s great Luna.” He finally managed.
She nodded again, her gaze still off to the side. She spoke again, her voice still as dreamy as ever. “Yes. Perhaps you’d like to borrow it? I’m almost done. I’m sure you’ll like it.” She walked off before Harry could answer, leaving him to shake his head in amusement.

Why do you think you will be good at this character: (How could I not be I'm amazing? *winks* j/k j/k) I really like Harry, and also believe that I can RP as Harry because my friends on here apparently do, and they are always right and all knowing. So therefore, there is little question left in my mind as to whether or not I am capable of RPing as Harry. Not to mention I have plenty of experiences similar to Harry such as growing up with an uncle that hates your guts ad loves your cousin way more than you! (The sad thing I'm not even joking there...) Why do you want this character: For one thing this site is a Harry Potter RPG, and to be perfectly honest its kinda hard to have one without a Harry, and I really want to help get this website up and rolling. Plus I have never had the chance to RP as a cannon character before and it seems like a load of fun! ^-^
Roleplay sample of character:
Harry gasped, the sudden rush of cold air racking every nerve of his body sending him into a fit of shivers. His eyes were half open as he gazed around the room blankly. What am I doing here...? He had no recollection of how he got there, which in Harry opinion was not very good thing. Especially not with his history of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and especially not when here happened to be Department of Mysteries. He opened his mouth to call out for someone when someone beat him to it.
"Harry!" He jumped, startled, as one naturally is when it sounds like someone is screaming in your ear. Wheeling around he looked for the source of the yelling. It sounded so familiar yet the muddled cloud of his mind could not quite place it. The cogs of his mind sluggishly worked to identify the source of the voice as he noticed his vision hazed.
"HARRY!!!!!!" This time it sounded as if someone had been screaming in his face, he toppled over and landed with a thud, screaming at the top oh his lungs. "HERMIONE!!!!!" His mind finally locking onto the voice. His eyes opened and he noticed with a jolt the room had suddenly changed. From the could halls of the Department of Mysteries to the even colder atmosphere of Snape's classroom.
If that alone had not been enough to frighten Harry the look Hermione was shooting at him would have surely done the trick. "I thought I told you to watch the potion!" She shrieked waving her arms madly in a way the would have seen comical in any other situation. "Um, what?" he asked feeling terribly confused. Until his eyes settled on the cauldron resting upon the desk above him. Usually he would ask what was wrong with the potion but it seemed rather unnecessary, what with it spewing purple sparks and emanating a foul odor that had knocked out Neville, the poor bystander that walked by a the wrong moment.
Harry frowned, "I guess I'll just take Neville to the hospital wing then..." he stood up off the floor and went over to Neville's unconscious form. "Wait, you're going to leave me and Ron to fix this potion?"Hermione looked so terrifying that Draco shut his mouth before the snide comment about their potion could e released. Ron, on cue stood up, "Of course not Hermione! I'm going to help Harry with Neville, you have such an amazing talent for potions anyway, you don't need my help." Nodding to Harry, the duo slipped out leaving an infuriated Hermione to salvage the now deadly potion. ((Yeah, sorry about the sample RP but my ten minutes is up in one minute so... TA DA!))

Why do you think you will be good at this character: I think that I would be excellent for this character because I have read all of the Harry Potter books numerous times, and although I cannot exactly relate to Malfoy, I find his his nature predictable to me. I have been role playing since the Spring of 2002, and I have role played Draco in the past. Why do you want this character: I want this character because I think he's hilarious. He's fun to play because he's so obnoxious and arrogant, and the threads that have Draco in them are always more interesting because you never know what the prat will say next.
Roleplay sample of character: Draco sat quietly at his cauldron near the front of the classroom. His slicked blond hair shined almost to bright from the light of the nearby window, which emphasized his pale and pasty complexion. He chucked his entire vial of puffer fish eyes into the steaming cauldron without counting them. He knew his swelling solution wasn't going to be absolutely -amazing-, like him, but it didn't matter. Professor Snape would never mark him down, especially in front of that despicable Potter. As Draco's thoughts drifted toward that foul mudblood loving git, his gray eyes slid menacingly to his right where they rested on that hideous scar-headed boy. Draco couldn't prevent the grin that slowly stretched across his face as he waited for Potter to realize that his puffer-fish eyes were mysteriously replaced with beetle eyes, which would surely cause some sort of catastrophe in his cauldron.
Draco stirred in a bit of whatever ingredients were still on his desk into his own cauldron, paying no attention to the amount or the name. Harry, on the other hand, sat across his room, still chopping his knotgrass into uneven clumps. Pathetic, Draco sneered to himself, He chops his own ingredients. Guess his "friends" aren't all that loyal after all. At this thought, his eyes shot to Goyle who was feebly crushing some sort of powder for Draco's potion. "Hurry up, will you?" barked Draco, just to keep authority clear.
Suddenly there was a gasp and Draco couldn't help but his enormous smile as he turned, hoping to see boils or legs sprouting off of Potter's face. But instead, he only saw that mudblood Granger snatching Potter's vial out of his hand, "Harry! These aren't puffer-fish eyes, they're beetle eyes! Couldn't you tell by the size?" The muggle-born walked briskly over to the student cabinet and returned with a vial of puffer-fish eyes. "Here. Don't know how you'd get on without me. Either of you!" The bushy brunette looked from Potter to Weasley and then continued on with her own potion which seemed to be nearly complete.
Draco snatched the bowl of powder right out from Goyle's hands and dumped it into his cauldron angrily with an audible grunt. Goyle made some delayed moan of protest but then stared with glazed eyes at the knots in the wood on the table. Draco glared a hole into Goyle's head and smacked the back of his head with his hand. Suddenly, Crabbe came up behind him mumbling about "When will Potty find out?" but Crabbe forgot, as he usually does, the size of his girth and nearly knocked Draco into his cauldron. Luckily, he grabbed onto Crabbe to steady himself, but Goyle stood up at just the right time which successfully dunked all of their heads into the swelling solution. Draco yelled in anger and in confusion as his head swelled to that of a melon.

Why do you think you will be good at this character:Cho is one of my favoutie character besides Luna and since Luna is taken I decided to give Cho a try as I know quite abit about her characetr and have read all the book and am willing to reasearch her characetr more if needed. Why do you want this character:As my first choice was already taken and she is also on of my favourite characters and am an active rp who knows how to roleplay.(If you want check Lunaria Pendragons post on Vitrual Hogwarts.)
Roleplay sample of character:Cho walked though the castle grounds on her way back to the Ravenclaw Tower after having been to the owlery to send a letter home to her family telling them that all was good and well. Walking though the corridors she past numerous students some she knew, some she didn't but all the same she had a smile on her face as she walked by them. Then she spotted an extremely familiar face and it was that was that of Harry Potters and has was coming towards her. "Hi Harry." She said as she passed him and she was going to continue down the corridor but he stopped her. "Hey Cho you want to come take a walk with me." He asked her but Cho knew she couldn't accept. "I'm sorry Harry but I have an essay I need to right."She said to him as she had a bundle of books in her arms."Maybe some other time."She said with a gentle smile. "Ok then I guess I'll see you around."He said sounding a bit down hearted. "Yeah I'll see you around Harry." Cho said before turning and continuing on her way back to the her common room to do her essay. :ravenclaw:

Why do you think you will be good at this character: I love the Harry Potter books and have read them over and over again. I paid extra attention to Ginny through out the books because she is one of my absolute favorite characters. She is such a strong character and I really think I can portray her. Why do you want this character: Ginny is an amazing character and she is one of my favorites.
Roleplay sample of character:
Ginny sat up in the fourth year girls dorm thumbing through her potions book. She wasn’t paying much mind to what she was reading. Her mind wasn’t focused on her potions essay at the moment. Then again her mind was hardly ever focused on potions, it was hard to do, especially since Snape taught it. After a minute she gently tossed the book aside. Ginny was alone in the dorm, everyone else was probably down in the commonroom. Taking a deep frustrated breath she thought it best to save the potions essay for later when she could keep her mind on that alone.
Swinging her feet over the edge of the bed she got up and practically danced out of the room. Starring down at the people in the commonroom below she smiled as she spotted her brother Ron, and his friends Hermione and Harry. Harry Potter. She smirked again at saying his full name. She didn’t know why she always had such a reaction around Harry. She watched them for a few moments; the trio was deep in conversation. About what, Ginny could only guess, but it was something they would refuse to let her in on that much she knew.
Harry had feelings toward Cho. Even though he hadn’t admitted it, Ginny could tell. The way she caught him look at her whenever Cho was around. It was enough to crawl under Ginny’s skin and make her want to scream, even cry. Why couldn’t he look at her that way? She was just Ron’s kid sister, that was why. “No matter. Doesn’t matter anyway.” Ginny muttered spinning on the balls of her feet just as Harry had made eye contact with her. She flashed him a smile before she turned and walked back up to the dorm with hopes of working on her homework and not thinking about other things.
